Meeting Agenda for Sept. 18 Meeting
We are looking forward to our next meeting, and hope to see attendance pass the 20-person mark! The venue location is being finalized, and will be emailed out to all interested parties as soon as we lock it down.
On tap for the Sept. 18 meeting is the following:
- We will again run the meeting from 6:30-9:30 p.m., and will start with a social hour. Pending finalization of the location, we may again offer dinner to interested parties. As with the previous meeting, we'll need to establish a firm headcount for food prior to the day of the event.
- Schedule for the evening is as follows:
- 6:30-7:00 arrivals, late arrivals, dinner and socializing
- Collection for 50/50 drawing
- 7:00-7:30 Introductions for first-time attendees; review of agenda.
- What we learned from in the August meeting (separate board meetings, move forward with fee structure, educational venues, etc.)
- Format for future meetings
- Updates to membership application and bylaws
- Status of tournament
- Discuss membership program, size/type limits, and opportunities to sign up now.
- Need volunteers to help plan winter venues!!
- 7:30-9:00: Main tent seminar.
- Introduction of David Burmaster and his seminar, titled "Managing Medical Issues at Sea." David began his career as a medic in Vietnam, and through the years, has run a family practice, served as a medical officer for ARCO's fleet of tankers and today is a physician's assistant at Burlington County Hospital's emergency room. David and his son, Seth, run a 31' Innovator offshore throughout the summer months primarily chasing tuna and sharks. David's practical experience in emergency medicine and time spent aboard small boats will bring to us some valuable perspective about dealing with routine and exceptional medical situations, what medical supplies offshore fishermen should carry aboard, and how to use them.
- After the conclusion of David's presentation, we'll have the 50/50 drawing.
- Will have discussion of next couple of venues, ask for feedback on current ideas, and for new ideas that people would find of interest.
- Wrap-up by Al and Joel
