Update for May 21 PJSA Meeting

Recap of Rigging Clinic
We were thrilled by the attendance and enthusiasm at the rigging clinic we held in early April! We've heard nothing but great things from everyone who attended. We will certainly add an event of this type to our calendar in future years.

Special thanks go out to the following individuals:

Future Event Schedule
With our May event, we go back to our weekday meeting format. Starting with PJSA's May 21 meeting, we'll be getting together on the third Wednesday of each month. Our meeting locations will go back to the Sovereign Bank facility in Dresher, unless the meeting format dictates another location. Meeting times are 7:00-9:30 unless otherwise indicated.

Upcoming Venues
On May 21, we'll have Capt. John Koegler, owner/operator of the charter boat Pop's Pride (out of Morrison's Marina, Beach Haven). In addition to running daily charters through the summer months, John writes the fishing column for the LBI newspaper "The Beachcomber." We've asked John to focus his presentation on thinking about three dimensions when fishing – that is, how to fish the entire water column effectively.

On June 18, our own Randy Alkins will present the ins and outs of fishing bait for marlin and tuna. This will include both rigging techniques and trolling patterns, and maybe even a few of the secret tricks that Randy uses to score more marlin strikes aboard his 25' Sea Ox, "Marlyn II."

Fishing Reports
One of PJSA's eventual goals is to have a private Web site where PJSA members can privately post their fishing reports. While we have not yet built that facility, we still want to encourage members to share current and relevant info with other PJSA members.

As a temporary solution, Al Gillen (algillen@yahoo.com) has volunteered to collect, consolidate and forward your information to other PJSA members. If you can send your reports to Al via email (or call if that is more convenient), he will collect all the info available and send out a report on Monday, and another toward the end of the week with whatever (if any) mid-week information is available.

We would like to emphasize that the intent is to share this information to PJSA members, not to the public at large. So we'd like to ask that the reports we share with each other stay within the PJSA community. By distributing this information on a limited basis, we all can feel comfortable sharing more specific info, TDs or GPS coordinates, specific wreck names, etc. This is also an opportunity to compare notes with other members who share your specific fishing grounds or favorite quarry.
